PyG Town Hall
Town Hall: Graph Machine Learning with fastgraphml
July 25th – 21st, 2023 – Virtual
Graph Machine Learning (ML) is a rapidly-growing area of Machine Learning. It has attracted many people from various domains, ranging from social science to chemistry, biology, physics, and e-commerce. The reason behind this is the fact that graph-structured data is ubiquitous. Today, many real-world applications are backed by graph ML to run their prediction services. For example, UberEats leverages graph ML to suggest dishes, restaurants, and cuisines its users might like next. Pinterest uses graph ML to make visual recommendations, and Google DeepMind exploits graph ML to make traffic predictions.
Arango recently released the fastgraphml package (built on top of PyG) to help users build graph ML models with just a few lines of code. The first release is focused on providing graph embeddings (specifically node embeddings) for graph ML problems including node classification, link prediction, graph classification, and more. The framework uses ArangoDB as a backend to export graphs directly into the fastgraphml package. The town hall will cover how to use the package.
Join our Machine Learning Expert Sachin Sharma for this town hall on July 25th, 2023.

Workshop Session: Graph Powered Machine Learning
June 22nd, 2023: 9:00 – 17:00 CEST
From graph analytics to graph neural networks: Making the most of your graph data. In this workshop, you will gain hands-on experience with the latest topics in Analytics and Machine Learning: Graph Powered Machine Learning.
Graph Analytics has long demonstrated that it solves real-world problems, including Fraud, Ranking, Recommendation, text summarization, and other NLP tasks. More recently, Graph Machine Learning applied directly to graphs using graph algorithms, and machine learning has demonstrated significant advantages in solving the same problems as graph analytics and problems that are impractical to solve using graph analytics.
Graph Machine Learning does this by training statistical models on the graph resulting in Graph Embedding and Graph Neural Networks that are used to solve complex problems in different ways. We will cover Graph Basics, Graph Analytics, and Graph Machine Learning with many hands-on experiences.
